Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority (SHFA) has placed a number of SFA’s stylish and iconic Arqua Stations along the foreshore of Circular Quay East.
The Arqua Station is a complete system that provides fresh tap or filtered water to public spaces. First launched in 2008, the public drinking fountain and water-refill pole was the result of a collaboration with environmental group Do Something!, in order to reduce the impact of disposable plastic bottles on overall landfill.
The innovative fountain is designed without a basin, so that litter is not collected (causing blockage) and residual water trickles easily down a sculptural blade. The Arqua Fountain is paired with the Arqua Pole, a refill facility that provides tap or filtered water to passers-by.
A special edition Arqua Station in stainless steel was designed for Circular Quay East. The installation of Arqua Stations is part of an SHFA initiative to encourage a bottle-free environment, and to accommodate for the tourist industry with the provision of fresh drinking water.
Over the next 4 years, the NSW Government is undertaking a program to upgrade 12 wharves along the Sydney Harbour foreshore. Street Furniture has been chosen to provide new seating for these wharves. This featured project is located in Neutral Bay Wharf.
In partnership with the Sydney Harbour Foreshore Authority, Street Furniture Australia has provided new, stronger planter boxes to line the historic streets and laneways of The Rocks. In this iconic tourist destination, the planters create an attractive streetscape environment for locals and visitors alike. A popular option among councils across Australia.
A series of Frame Bins have been tailored to make a mark on the Cronulla Beach promenade. Featuring a wave design laser cut, the new bins – commissioned by Sutherland Shire Council – are creative and fun, and work to keep the beautiful beach clean and tidy.
